We have four fantastic trips in Year Two.
Our first trip in the autumn term is to our local Pizza Express in East Sheen. The children enjoy first hand experience of making a pizza which helps them back at school in literacy to write their own instructions. Learning about the different toppings on their pizza also supports their learning in our science topic ‘Health and Growth’.
Orleans House Gallery is our next exciting trip. Here we find out about lots of different materials and how they can be used. We have a chance to visit the current exhibition and think about how materials are used in art. During this trip we make our own paintbrush and try it out in sketchbooks that we have made. Also in the spring term we have a trip to the National Archives in Kew in order to see the documents and research the evidence that exists about The Great Fire of London.
In the summer we visit the Wetlands Centre in Barnes. Here we learn about the different plants that grow in the there. We have a fantastic workshop and explore the environment.
