upporting Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Following early identification, children receive targeted support through a variety of approaches. In the classroom, the curriculum is differentiated to accommodate different rates of progress. Some children have Individual Learning Targets that are reviewed regularly to ensure continued growth. These targets provide a clear focus for class teachers, parents, and support staff to collaborate in helping the child progress.
Support may be delivered within the classroom setting, in small groups, or on a 1:1 basis, depending on the individual needs of each child. The SEND team, led by the Special Needs Coordinator, is experienced and dedicated to providing the best possible support.
The school maintains strong links with external agencies to offer additional guidance and support. We also have access to advisory teachers and educational psychologists from the local authority to further enhance our provision.
We believe that children with SEND achieve the best outcomes when there is a strong partnership between home and school. Regular meetings are held to monitor progress and explore ways in which parents can further support their child’s development.
Parents are always welcome to discuss their child’s progress throughout the year. A copy of the school’s SEND Policy is available for inspection at any time.
