Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

The term Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) encompasses a broad range of challenges, varying in both severity and duration. Children with SEND may face difficulties in specific areas of the curriculum, or they may experience social, emotional, behavioural, or physical challenges. We are committed to providing comprehensive support programs to meet the needs of these children.

In addition to general support, we offer specialist resource provision for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. This provision is available for three children in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and three children in Key Stage 2 (KS2). The primary goal of this provision is to ensure that these children are fully integrated into mainstream school life. For further information, please visit our Phoenix & Nurture Room page.

“Leaders ensure that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) get the right support, including pupils in the school’s specially resourced provision. Leaders identify pupils’ individual needs accurately. Staff know their pupils well. They adapt teaching and provide personalised support to ensure that all pupils achieve highly.” (Ofsted, April 2023)
