Year 5
Welcome to our Year 5 page! In Year 5 at East Sheen Primary School, students are encouraged to broaden their horizons and engage in a range of exciting and challenging topics. This year, our curriculum covers fascinating subjects such as the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, Fairtrade and sustainable fashion, and the Tudors, providing students with opportunities to deepen their knowledge and make meaningful connections across different areas of learning.
Year 5 is a time for developing critical thinking and creativity. Students will explore history, science, geography, and art, with hands-on projects like creating Viking shields, studying the life cycles of living things, and designing sustainable clothing for a fashion show. They’ll also develop important life skills through activities like, studying the environment, and collaborating on group projects.
In addition to academic learning, Year 5 students enjoy a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including athletics, music, and art. Regular trips, including visits to historical sites and immersive workshops, bring their learning to life and provide real-world context.
Stay tuned to this page for updates on all the exciting adventures, projects, and milestones happening throughout the year in Year 5!
