Reception
Reception is a wonderful year when children begin their learning journey at East Sheen Primary School. We provide a nurturing, stimulating environment where children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning through play, exploration and hands-on experiences.
Throughout the year, children enjoy a range of exciting topics, including All About Me, Day and Night, People Who Help Us, All Around the World, Traditional Tales, Life Cycles and The Blue Planet. These themes inspire curiosity, encourage creativity and help children make sense of the world around them.
Our learning takes place both inside and outside the classroom, with plenty of opportunities for children to explore, create, investigate and collaborate. Alongside this, children develop key skills in early reading, writing and maths, building strong foundations for future learning.
We celebrate each child's unique strengths and achievements, helping them to grow into happy, confident and enthusiastic learners. We look forward to sharing our Reception journey with you throughout the year!
