Pupil Premium

At East Sheen Primary School, we are committed to a whole-school ethos focused on achievement for every pupil. Our high-quality teaching and rigorous expectations of behaviour for learning foster a rich and positive environment where all students can thrive. We prioritise meeting the individual needs of each child, regardless of their starting point, ensuring that all pupils are supported to reach their full potential. In addition, we maintain high expectations for school attendance, as regular attendance is essential for accessing the full range of learning opportunities available.

What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to publicly funded schools in England, aimed at raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils across all abilities and closing the achievement gap between them and their peers.

The following pupils are eligible for the Pupil Premium grant:

  • Pupils who are currently eligible for free school meals, or have been eligible at any point in the past six years

  • Pupils who have been adopted from care or have left care

  • Children who are looked after by the local authority

For more information on the allocation and government guidelines for the use of Pupil Premium funding, please visit the Department for Education (DfE) website: Pupil Premium Information for Schools.

To check if your child is eligible for Pupil Premium funding and to apply, please visit Richmond Free School Meals Application.

Our Pupil Premium strategy reports, which outline how the funding is spent and the impact it has, are available below.
