World Day of Languages - 26th September 2011

On Monday 26th September we are celebrating World Day of Languages at East Sheen Primary School to make the children aware of the importance of learning languages, to increase awareness and appreciation of ALL the languages spoken in school and the wider community; and to encourage lifelong language learning.

At school, the children will have the opportunity to learn about a new country, the location and culture of that country, and learn how to greet their friends in anew language. The activities will take part during the normal school day and will be a celebration of the many different languages and cultures in our school.

The children are asked to come into school in mufti dressed in the colours from the flag of the country assigned to their class - the children will be given more information in class. We are not asking for any donations, we are just celebrating the wealth of languages and cultures within our school community.
